annabel “over the moon” with charity fundraiser
With charities suffering immeasurably from the pandemic, and various planned activities having been curtailed since we first decided to partner with Over the Wall in 2019, annabel was keen to support the charity’s recent Captain Tom 100 challenge. Friday 30th April 2021 would have been Captain Sir Tom Moore’s 101st birthday and the one-year anniversary of his famous 100 laps of the garden and this campaign invited supporters to take part in their own “100” challenges.
The annabel team rose to the challenge in a number of creative ways from baking to bouncing; cycling to swimming; skipping to star jumping; paddle boarding to paw shaking as well as volleying 100 times in one rally and volunteering 100 minutes of their time free of charge in lieu of clients donating the equivalent amount in fees to the campaign.
Having smashed our original fundraising target by 360%, the £3,600 raised will enable 15+ seriously ill children to participate in an online Over the Wall Camp in the Cloud providing the necessary staffing and support and, of course, the ‘Seriously Fun’ boxes of resources and equipment which are sent to campers' homes. In addition, 8 seriously ill children aged 8-17 will be invited to a life-changing camp, to make friends, gain confidence, learn to take risks, have fun away from a world of hospital appointments and, most importantly, feel part of a community.
We would like to thank everyone who supported our endeavours by donating time, money and ideas; we are truly ‘over the moon’ in terms of your generosity and kindness.
